Verónica Ortiz

I am Verónica Ortiz Coronel, originally from Mexico City, and I have a degree in Marketing. My professional career began in the corporate environment, but it was my desire to discover new worlds that took me first to Toronto, Canada, and then to Playa del Carmen, where my life took an unexpected and transforming turn.

What began as a recreational activity to admire the beauty of the ocean soon became a true vocation. Each dive was an invitation to astonishment: shoals in perfect harmony, corals of unimaginable textures, fleeting encounters with majestic creatures... and, above all, the sensation of being in a sacred space, where time stands still and the senses are heightened.

Diving taught me to breathe differently, to observe carefully and to deeply respect the rhythms of nature. Over time, my passion grew and I decided to specialize. In 2024 I obtained my certification as a cave diver, entering the Mayan underworld: a silent, millenary and powerful universe, where each formation tells a story and each cave explored is a lesson in humility, technique and connection with the ancestral.

Today, diving is not just an activity in my life; it is the axis that guides it. It represents an ongoing commitment to learning, safety and the preservation of the marine environment. It is also a bridge that allows me to connect with people around the world, share transformative experiences and witness the impact the ocean has on those who dive in it.

Although I have enjoyed other passions - such as soccer and motorcycling - it is underwater where I really find myself. There is no noise there, only presence. There is no rush, only purpose.

I found in diving much more than a calling: I found a language with which I understand the world and, above all, myself.
